Default Question on shipping Pyrodex pellets

I have 7 cans of Pyrodex pellets (unopened) that are for a 44/45 caliber handgun - 30 grain volume equivalent. I'd like to sell them and am wondering if I can ship them. Do I need a special license to ship these things? Is a fair price $6 per can - I paid over $14 for them, but all I shoot are rifles.

thanks...rick

They can be shipped UPS Ground only USPS won't touch em. No special license or permit.

There is a $20 HAZMAT fee attached for the volume you will be shipping. Personally, two trips to your nearest state gun range should be no problem getting rid of them for a reduced price like you're willing to sell them for. You may have to wait until fall now -- when the ranges get busy.

Can I use these pellets in my 50 caliber rifle? Would it be ok to grind them up, I have a ceramic mortar and petzel that might work for this.

I personally would not grind them up. It could be dangerous. You could damage the powder. And you would really have no control on the size of the grains your making. It would not be very accurate and could be dangerous to load and shoot as a measured shot...

I think you need to talk to people and find someone that wants a bargin...
