They are having an end-of-season sale on there hunting accessories now. I picked up some black powder supplies pretty cheap.

checked my Wal Mart again today and nothing has been reduced. I did look over everything real good so I know what I should come after when it does.

I was up at the local Walmart this weekend and picked up a TC Black Diamond "package" (lot of accessories) for $170. The guy at the counter said they'd paid $220 for them. I think that same package sells for $270 at Natchez.

My Wally put their supplies on sale last week. No change on the guns though. :(

hmm thanx for the heads up...im running out after work tomarow!!! i like to keep minor stuff on hand....patches....cleanings stuff.....you know....our rifle season just ended....wont be surprised if thye try giving it away soon...or maybe they will wait till out late flintlock season ends....either way its worth a look........i remember last year i was a day late and they were sold out of everything i wanted....

Keep shoppin Wal-Mart. That extra $20 you save each trip really helps your household out dont it?

Just DONT bitch for one second when you loose your job because your employer who supplied "mom and pops" ran out of customers and had to go out of business themselves (or they fired you all, packed up and went too China to produce for Wallyworld),

I prefer to buy my stuff from a sporting goods/gun shop or Cabela's.
You get better service and normally more knowledge than from someone at Walmart that just got transfered to sporting goods from housewares!
Cheaper isn't always better in the long run.
But that's just me.

If you're the kind of guy that needs advice or service, don't go to wallyworld, at least until you talk to somebody that does know what they're talking about.

If you know what you want it's hard to turn down a good deal for the same brands that you could buy from "mom and pop".

I don't need advice or service from a gunshop. Most of the guys I've run into are too busy with their rich customers, or are too opinionated if you want a Savage intead of a Browning. I'll get any service I need from the Manufacturer or a good gunsmith.

20 bucks goes a long way in my house.

It's unfortunate the Mom & Pop stores are closing. However, those that take stabs at the Wally Worlds surely have wives that grocery shop at large food chains... not the corner MA & Pa market.

Who in the lower middle class (most folks) wants to go out on a Saturday -- then give a large portion of a single day's take-home earnings & give the Ma & Pop gun store an extra $40 -- then give the Ma & Pop grocery store an extra $40 just for a personal greeting & personal purchase advice that he or she likes... but not you.

I worked hard for that $80 take-home pay. If I want to donate $80, I'll buy a couple of X-Mas presents for needy, homeless kids & take it to a nearby missionary in mid-town Detroit. Why give it to a comfortable-living, suburbanite store owner with a new car parked out front?

Remember sumthin'.... the Waltons started out as a Mom & Pop also. Cheap prices made them filthy rich. Tell Mom & Pop to lower their prices $40 & start driving used cars -- start living in the upstairs flat on top of their stores & save enough money to buy one of these mega stores.
