What are your regs in PA? If your allowed scopes you may wish to consider an Elite (no sights on it). They have cantileverd recoil lug which basically free floats the barrel. My friend Randy gets half inch groups out of his Elite. I generally get inch to inch and a half out of my Extreme depending on the load.

I have an Extreme and its a very good rifle. I would stay away from the wood stocks (including laminate). Knight is much better with their synthetic stocks. As for twist they only come in two 1/28" in 50 caliber, 1/30 in 45 caliber. I' d stay with the 50 caliber as you have more choices in bullets. I' m shooting the 260 gr. Winchester Platinum tips and 100 gr of FFG Triple Seven. With this load I average 1 1/2" . I' ve also used 250 Barnes and 100 gr of FFG T7 and averaged an inch. With the Barnes and 2 T7 pellets I even got sub inch groups. I' m currently thinking about trying T/C PTX bullets with MMP sabots.

DeerHunter2000

Welcome to the sport! If you are only a week or two away from your ml season, I hope you are on a work vacation because this is much different than buying factory ammo and loading the gun & shooting it.

If no vacation, buy Pyrodex pellets (50s & 30s) -- then buy two different styles/bullet grains of sabot/bullets offered by Knight. Start off with a 50 & 30.... then (3) 30s.... then (2) 50s.... etc. Keep going up in 10 grain increments until good accuracy is achieved. You should not have to exceed 120 grains to group well.

I would normally recommend Triple Se7en loose or pellet powder, but 30 grain 777 pellets are still not available.

I also shoot a .50 cal Disc Extreme. I bought it at the end of November of this year and I'm already selling it to buy a KNight Master Hunter. I love the extreme and have the thumbhols stock with stainless barrel. I mounted a red dot scope and took two deer with it this December in WI. I used 250 grain dead center with 100 grain loose triple seven.

If you are interested I plan to put it out for sale next week for $395.00 without the scope. It sells for $499.00 at Bass Pro.com. The master Hunter will cost me a grand, but I'm addicted to the sport.
