Default Advice Please

Just purchased a CVA 209 Magnum 50 cal. This is my first ML , and I wanted to know what equipment I needed before heading out to the range.

Default RE: Advice Please

The usual stuff, ear protection, targets, bullets, gun powder (tripple 7 pellets), caps, capper, something to rest the gun on, cleaning patches and solvent #13 bore cleaner, and bullet loader. What I have is a tool box from Wal Mart which I keep all my stuff in, to shoot my flint and in-line muzzleloaders. I keep a towel in it which I place on the tool box and use it as a gun rest.

I usually take a 4x8 piece f tar paper, put a target in the center and sight in at 100 yards.

I would shot only 100 grain and not the 150 magnum. There are articles on the board that state CVA does not test the barrels for the 150 grains and buy them from Spain.

I have a CVA Firebolt magnum 50 cal which I picked up last year and got my first doe with it this past October.

Good luck with it.
