Default CVA Accura & Large Rifle Primers

I just upgraded my BP rifle to a CVA Accura that I picked up from www.muzzle-loaders.com. I see that it can be converted over to using large rifle primers. Looking to hear from anyone that has switched over & their thoughts on if it's worth it. Is there a noticible difference in ignition over 209s? TIA.

They still are not available yet. Every vendor had them as Out Of Stock since they were announced in the catalog. So good luck getting a review on it.

Thanks, at least that makes me feel a little better. I thought I was being ignored because I was a FNG.
I'm betting the rifle primers are incresingly difficult to come by anyway. Unless I see or hear something very compelling, I'll be sticking with th 209s.

Nope this forum is just dead because the owners let it become a spam bot haven. Modern MuzzleLoader forum is far more active and we dont have a daily flood of spam bots.

Use Federal 209A primers. They are the hottest I know of.
Also, if you live in humid areas and at the range, keep that powder lid on tight while outdoors and only expose it for as little-as-possible time. Use small containers of your powder as possible at the range. Take what's necessary there.... nothing more.

I take a small empty, 1/4-sized container of Pyrodex, which came with my first muzzleloader back in 1992. Holds about 1/4 of a jug. You can also buy preloaders and take those to the range. I don't like them as-much, for I'm always changing my loading powder volume at the range. Sometimes I take three different muzzleloaders to the range and they are all different from one another.
