I'm betting the rifle primers are incresingly difficult to come by anyway. Unless I see or hear something very compelling, I'll be sticking with th 209s.
Use Federal 209A primers. They are the hottest I know of.
Also, if you live in humid areas and at the range, keep that powder lid on tight while outdoors and only expose it for as little-as-possible time. Use small containers of your powder as possible at the range. Take what's necessary there.... nothing more.

I take a small empty, 1/4-sized container of Pyrodex, which came with my first muzzleloader back in 1992. Holds about 1/4 of a jug. You can also buy preloaders and take those to the range. I don't like them as-much, for I'm always changing my loading powder volume at the range. Sometimes I take three different muzzleloaders to the range and they are all different from one another.
