3pellets for a 100gr load
At $22/60 or more per pack
Thats over a buck a pop just for the powder.

By my math they even seem more expensive per shot than even BH 209.

Well I only ever purchased and used one box of pellets years ago when I got my first inline. They were Pyrodex 50/50 I believe. I have no interest in them but hey, whatever trips your trigger.

Blackhorn209 is pretty much cheaper than all pellets when you figure in that around 85gr by volume its really close to the same speed as 2 pellets. Using heavier bullets the advantage gets better.

I got a box of 50 Pyrodex 50-50 pellets at Walmart for $5.00.They had rifles under $100 and I got boxes of round balls for $4.00 each. When they liquidate their muzzle stuff you can get bargains.

Thanks for sharing this information. I no longer use pellets anymore but its great to read up on new products from those who know black powder.

Absolutely. ATM we dont even have a SDS to compare composition. The Firestars will not be available until February. Im not sure where to get the newer APP pellet yet. I cant seem to find them anywhere.

Typically, APPs line of powders are easier to ignite and have less crud ring. Those reasons alone are why i think they are more interesting than the Firestar.

I dont really have enough interest in pellets or a 50cal rifle that i want to subject to any corrosive power other than maybe Blackhorn209. That rifle and barrel can not be replaced easily or affordably.

For Hodgdon to come out with this product and the expense when purchasing by the box, one would hope something offsets the price with much improved benefits.
I shoot a 3 - pellet T7 (150grs) charge for about 45 cents per shot. That's enough cost....

i personally talked to a guy ( mike ) @ hodgdon & they say they won't release them until end of feb or beginning of march. he told me that they shot it multiable times beforehave a some what crud ring. i asked him what was multiable times & he just kept stating multiable . each pellet weighs aprox 33 grains & said i would have to check my manufactors recommendation of grains allowed. i still don't think anything out there is going to beat blackhorn 209. plan & simple.

You can bet the stuff will contain potassium perchlorate and sodium benzoate. Maybe some dicyaniamide too.
