As was said. You can shoot any loose powder, except BH 209. Which i'm not sure you know this, but BH 209 is basiacally a smokeless powder that been detuned to black powder power, and of course some smoke was added.
So, because it's basically a smokeless powder it's much harder to ignite than all the other powders made for muzzleloaders. That's why Western and CVA came out with special breech plugs to ignite it.
I'll say it again. If CVA included both breech plugs with the gun. The price would go up. The majority use pellets, and don't need the BH 209 breech plug. They would complain they're paying for a breech plug they don't need. Since the majority use pellets. The majority would be complaining.
Now if you were CVA. What would you do?

Regular QRBP comes with the tool

Hmm no mention of the tool in the BH209 QRBP description. I wonder why not?
The nitride plug states it does NOT come with the tool. It would be nice if CVA took the time to mention this tidbit in the non nitride barrel BH209 plug too...Dont ya think?

This can easily be done with the QRBP fitting tool, that comes with the QRBP as well as simple step by step instructions.

The new “Blackhorn QR Breech Plug” is specifically designed for use with BLACKHORN™ muzzleloading propellants. “By offering QR plugs that are optimal for whichever type of propellant the shooter chooses to use, either pelletized or loose. AC1611BH will NOT work on the CVA Apex.

NOTE: requires using tool to install. Once installed you no longer need to use a tool to remove or reinstall. Does not come with installation tool. The tool can be purchased here: http://www.cva.com/CVA-Store-View.php?id=868

You're complaining about buying one, and you need it. How much more would you complain if you had to buy it, and didn't need it?

Pretty sure most of us already know that. I've owned 7 CVA's and never had problems with them.
I thought you wanted to use the gun? If you just started the thread to bash CVA. It's against the rules here.
Stick with the White.
