I do my 1858 Rem much the same as Cayugad, with the exception that I blow it off good with an air nozzle on my compressor after the scrub/rinse and then pop it in the oven preheated to 200 and give it 20-25 minutes to dry any remaining moisture from the little nooks. Give it a good spray and wipe down and put it to bed til next time.
