Oh course they are having them converted. Savage MLIIs in SS have been selling for over $1000 and Jeff wont even convert them to the HIS ignition system.

Stiller/Shilen actions will set you back atleast $950 just for a bare action. A Stiller Diamondback is closer to $1350. A real 40X Rimfire is probably well over $1500 and it would be a shame to butcher one when you can simply buy the Diamondback action for less.

I bet when he is done they cost less than any UF or even the mid ranged Cooper offering AND they are 3000fps smokeless capable after the conversion.

I dont often see anyone buying a premium priced 50cal ML smoker and have it converted to a 45cal smoker or SML. It would make no sense when those options are readily available for less. When the original RU MSRP was over $1200 they had very little interest for conversions.

So like i said, The Cooper is good competition for the UF and starts at a lower price point using THEIR action. Not Remington's mass produced action but a made in house action. Personally i would prefer something more like the Gunwerks LRM-500 action which is similar to a 40X rimfire but thats just me.

Cooper should get a rifle ready for the spring in-line match at Friendship. It would get a lot of attention at the match or, even the National shoot this summer. That would be a much better place for Cooper to get recommendations and/or visions of their product. Shooters are tired of being given what the manufactures want them to have, rather than what shooters actually want.
