Food plot Sooooo what's wrong with that ?
Scoped sidelock . Ok I can see your point but to each his own . If it helps you see better then I can go with it
465 gr for a doe . What's wrong with that . 460's shoot best out of my white whether I shoot a buck or a doe
Shot in the #"& . Can happen to anybody .
So what's the problem ?
Seems to me he got a nice meat deer out of the deal and that's what it's all about .
Congrats there Van

I always get a kick out of you guys who have an aversion to a scope on a sidelock, yet have no problem with a scope on an inline.
Sure, a sidelock and a scope is a mix of modern and traditional. Well, any muzzleloader (including inlines) with a modern scope is also a mix of modern and traditional.
Consider this. Loading a Powerbelt, FPB, or a sabot in a sidelock is also a mix of modern and traditional. But that doesn't seem to offend anyone.
So, other than aesthetics, what's the big deal?
Anyway Sharpsshooter, don't mind Muley. He's a crotchety old bugger just looking to stir things up again.

I was thinking more like....
Tree Stand $150
Food Plot $200
Scoped Sidelock $400
465gr bullet for a doe $1
Shot in the azz by mistake (and recovered).... PRICELESS!
Good work Semi!

Nice doe Semi,
Glad it worked out for you... been there and done that. Took one through the hams with my .45 Hawken flinter about ten years ago or so and while she didn't go right down, she only went about sixty yards due to massive hemorrhaging from her femoral arteries. She came by me at a pretty good gait and when I got on her I also got on that very lightly set trigger before I had my lead right...
It's probably happened to more of us than are willing to admit.

Excellent WVH! And a lot kinder than the ridicule I got from the guys in our hunting club when I brought her back to the camp. I should have told them she was standing in a bunch of trees and that was the only shot I had.
