If your handy get a dove tail blank and solder a up right on it, A quarter works good.

You can purchase them through Brownells or Midway...

Here's a couple of examples from Midway that should work for you...

Most of the factory T/C bead style sights are .480-.485 overall height. That's the overall height measured from the base of the dovetail to the top of the sight, NOT from the base of the sight where it sits on the barrel flat. You would probably be fine with a sight that's .530 overall height but you could also go with .570 height if you feel you need it. The .530 will give you about 3/64" more height while the .570 will give you a little under 3/32" which should allow you plenty of rear sight adjustment from there on. The choice is yours. I would go with the .531 base width. They're made to fit a standard 3/8" dovetail as well.

Thanks Ron... it's kinda one of those "been there, done that" posts so I hope it helps him out. But... for anyone out there that runs into this problem, here's something simple that can help you determine what you may need if you're in a similar situation with your rifle as far as the front sight is concerned.
I know I've mentioned this before but...
Take a piece of 1/2" width electrical tape about 1" or so long and tape it onto your front sight as if you were wrapping it from right to left (or vice versa) onto the "blade" of your sight. Make sure it sticks above your existing sight by 1/16" to 3/32" or so. Trim it a bit if you don't have the narrow tape and all you have is 3/4 or 1" tape.
Adjust your rear sight so that it's near (but not totally at) the top of your setting and fire a few rounds at a relatively close distance, (25-30 yards). Then, with some very sharp scissors or a razor blade, trim the tape a very little at a time and fire a shot or two repeating the process until you start coming within 3 inches or so of center. Then adjust your rear sight until you're in the bull or where you want it to be.
Once you've done that... measure the height of your front sight from the top of your tape down to the barrel flat and write it down. Don't forget to add about 3/32" (or about .100 thousandths) to your measurement. Now, you should have a good idea about what you need for a replacement front sight as far as overall height from the bottom of the dovetail to the top of the sight is concerned.

I've never had to buy a front sight, so I was just guessing how it was measured that made sense. What about sights that don't use a dovetail, and screw down? You would have to measure those from the top of the barrel. It seems they would make it the same for all styles of sights.
The OP measured from the flat on the barrel which would make it shorter than from the bottom of the dovetail. Yet, TOW didn't have a taller sight. Which means they didn't even have a sight as tall as the stock sight. Let alone a taller one.
Leaves me scratching my head.
