Shooting Elk Hearts in the Rock Pit

That's fun times right there! I had a buddy one time I took shooting and when I pulled out a box of clays he laughed at me and said "Did you bring a shotgun? I can't him 'em with my rifle"
I laid out several and let him destroy them. He was hooked. About 2 or 3 days later I got a text that said "When are we going to go shoot some more clays? Who knew shooting orange dirt was so much fun?"

So yep! shooting clays is rewarding.

I really do agree shooting Orange Dirt is really rewarding. In my mind it is much more like shooting while hunting than is offered by shooting a piece of paper. Probably should not say this because it may be misunderstood, but I know that I am not shooting the most accurate load possible. I am shooting a hunting load that is very accurate and even though the BC of the bullet is lower than some I know that the bullet offers outstanding Terminal Ballistics.
So yep! shooting clays is rewarding.

When it comes to actual practice, it's hard to beat clays. You have a sense of disapointment if you miss with clays. With paper, it's still going to be visable on paper so it's not really a "miss". It forces you to 'make the shot count' much more. At least for me it does...
