In MN, you can carry concealed.
However, any establishment (stores, theaters, places of employment) may ban guns, just by placing a sign on points of entry into the building.
Colorado may be similar in their restrictions.

Those kind of signs are best ignored. Had a CCW holder taken out that clown in Colorado two minutes after the shooting started no one would have cared what the sign said or that the CCW regulations had been violated.

Anywhere an admission is charged for folks to attend a concealed gun is not allowed in NC.

A couple years ago I wanted to get my CCW permit. My wife didn't really want me to and said she was uncomfortable with me or anyone running around with a gun hidden somewhere because to her, it seemed like more problems could come from it than could be helped by it.
Last night while at work, I got an email from her that asked if I still wanted to get my CCW permit. She said between the area we were in the other day (we got sent on a couple detours through Minneapolis) and something like the CO shooting, she thought maybe I should CCW.

Whether a person carrying concealed could have stopped this demon quickly is debatable in this instance. My understanding is he opened his rampage by throwing tear gas and smoke bombs in an already dimly lit theater. I'm all for concealed carry and think in most cases it could make a large difference, but maybe not in this particular case.

That conclusion is based upon twisted media reporting so may or may not be valid.

What gets me is the discussion of whether this guy is mentally off-balance or not. Who cares!!? He spent at least weeks and probably months meticulously planning this heinous act, then carrying it out with a scratch. Who here gives a chit whether some shrink would say he is nuts? Slow roast his carcass on TV for all the rest of the would be villains to see.

You've got that right UC. The old "head on a pike" approach had some merit.

Instead, there will be years of excessive legal processes at a cost of milliion. There should be a simpler process for cases like this where there is no possible question of guilt. Fry, shoot, gas, or inject the SOB and get it over with.
