There are two schools of thought here . Since I shoot an Endeavor Encore and have been using it for several years I thought I might pass on some things. In order to drop the deer on the spot I use a 250 grain BONDED Shock Wave with 140 grains of Blackhorn. This must be placed just over the top of the heart from broadside. For complete penetration and a good blood trail a 275 Bloodline brass bullet in the same spot or a 250 grain Deep Curl or even a barnes all copper with the large open hollow point will work. Personally I prefer dropping them on the spot to following a blood trail. Bullet placement is the key.

I use a 460 gr paper patched 500 S&W bullet I make my self. I have never seen what they look like after they hit an animal because they blow through. I have shot and seen many animals shot with these and in all I am saying close to 20 animals, mule deer, antelope and elk. Unlike a lot of ML bullets when these hit they go, WHOMPPP! Then the animal is down either in their tracks of within spitting distance. Ron
