Default Need help with open sights

Rear sight, "Adjustable"
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/160...er-optic-green

Front sight i can get either .315" - .380" or .420" Height

For the front sight, which height should I get? Im going to be putting these on my Tennesse mountain rifle half stock " The REAL Bullets shooter".

Using my dads cabelas hawken that is sighted in with the reals to be dead on, His front sight measures .450" high and the rear sight is hanging over a good deal in order to get it sighted dead on at 100 yards.

Im thinkingthe .380" front sight might just be about rifle and leave me plenty of room to adjust upward.

You need to make a temporary front sight from cardboard or something easy to alter. When you get it shooting where you want. Measure it.

We used the CVA hawken to get a general ideer. This should work. If not, i can mount it on my dads cabelas hawken.

I would recommend ordering some replacement fiberoptic rods. You will break them no matter how careful you are. Or I should say I HAVE broken them regardless of how careful I tried to be!

LOL yeah no problem! Ebay has a whole bunch. The front sight comes with 6 different colors that you can swap out to suit your needs, so that will be great to have.

I thought about purchasing one of those awhile back but changed my mind. I could just envision those little replacable fiber rods becoming loose and falling out, etc. If I remember right, they were a larger diameter than I wanted as well so I went with a Marbles front sight.

Wow they came in already! No filing needed, the .375" dovetail give like a glove. Installed an orange optic up front but just have to figure out on the range if i want the thicker bead or reverse the sight for the thinner side. Going to try that here in a bit.
