I put fifteen rounds of conical bullets under that PowderHorn today. It held true. And I was shooting 85 grains of Triple Seven and believe me, you knew the rifle went off. It was a lot if fun actually. I am really liking this scope more and more.

My 3X10 Powder Horn arrived about a half hour ago. $60.94 with Louisiana State tax and shipping.

I set it atop a 4 ft. ladder in the back yard and viewed the brick facade of a house 100 yards out. I must say I'm impressed. Nice and sharp with almost zero edge blurring. I measured 3.75" of eye relief at 10X and 4.25" at 3X. I could not detect any parallax error at that distance whether it was set on 10X, 6X or 3X. I love the quick focus eyepiece.

At 12.2" it's longer than I like on a muzzleloader. But I just may have to put that sucker on the X7, or maybe on the .50 Renegade with its GM LRH barrel.

If I had to guess, I would say it's made by Simmons. The quick focus eyepiece is the same as the ProDiamond, and the provided scope caps are the same.

Semisane... you basically observed the same as I did with the scope. The clarity is what really caught my eye. And the dusk ability to gather light. I am still thinking of putting a second one on my LRH Stainless .45 caliber GMB.

That scope should work great on a Optima. And should be deadly accurate. Hope your shoulder heals soon.

Well I got suckered in by you guys....thanks. Peer pressure at 44... LOL

I went ahead and ordered the 3-9x40 Slugger version for the same price. I liked the reticle better, and I think it will suit my needs better. Not gonna be doing any long distance shooting with it, so it should be perfect with the 3 aiming points and less clutter in the sight picture.

I'm hoping that using 90-100gr RS w/ 240-260gr bullets will likely line up with how the scope is designed (100, 150, & 200yds with shotgun slugs) though shots over 100 are very rare for us. Should be relatively close I would think. Regardless...its on the way. For the $, its definitiely worth a try.

I guess I'll mount it up for my son, and give a report once we get time to shoot it.

(Oh, and fwiw...Cableas has $0.01 shipping on all orders right now if you order any clothing item or footwear.)

Me too. Just got done ordering the powderhorn 3x10x40 in matte for my wolf. $58.00 and change for scope and shipping. If it holds up, it can't be beat. Plus lifetime warranty.

Sabotloader, what rings do you have it mounted with? They look like a Durasight brand. Maybe Warne but I believe Warne uses 2 screws on top to secure.

I can not remember - i will have to go look. They are Warne bases and Warne rings. Although lately I have been buying NcStar steel QR rings.

Much less money and easier to move from one rifle to the other,
