Tape isn't required. Many use it, because it eliminates the clean-up issues one encounters, when using grease.

just tell them u are the original buyer. Even tc says their warranty is only for the original purchaser. And if they dont buy into, tell them straight up that their customer service sucks and it will be your last knight you ever buy.

A friend of mine suggested that too, I don't feel right lying to them. I'm just going to hope that can at least cut me a deal...we'll see

Tape is all that i use and all that I have ever used now 10 years. I feel the tape is the better way to go and creates a better seal. I also feel that is important to turn the BP in until it seats on the shelpf in the barrel and just as important to sung it down on the shelf. A loose plug has the potential to create big problems. With the plug seated snuggly on the shelf in the barrel you will seal a lot of the blow back from ever reaching the treads.

Your problem... I guess I am not to worried about it send it back to Knight and address it to Gordy Edward's attention. Let him take a look at it and make a decision. He will do right - he always has... trust me.

I am going to say this off the top of my head and without seeing your gun or the plug - but I am betting you it is not as bad as you think.

Worse come to worse find a used LRH barrel. They can be found usually pretty reasonably priced, are very accurate and will drop right in the Mountaineer stock. That way you can use the gun while you wait to to have the barrel fixed.

They read these threads besides lying isn't a good way to deal with things. honesty is a better approach. Just my opinion of course.

Did the original owner ever have the BP out? You would think he would have had the problem before you did.
