[QUOTE=W.W.;3862963]Isnt the pro hunter heavyer than the Mountainer by about a pound even with the Mountainer supporting a wood stock and about the same as the LRH ?[/QUOT

Yes about 14oz. The mountainerr is 5" longer, with a 1" shorter barrel.

that makes sense though. The encore can fire some huge centerfire rounds with the correct barrel. It has to be beefy in the action.

It is mostly in the barrel. Some of the cf barrels bring it down to 6lb range.

Earlier this year I ordered both the orange discs and the full jacketed red disc. I ordered the pliers for the primers on the full jacket discs. I ordered a Knight cap. I waited quite awhile and finally called them. They told me they were waiting on the cap to get there. I about had a heart attack when I saw what they are charging for the discs. That's my only experience with these new people. I know when Tony Knight had it I got top notch CS. I sure hope they can turn it around.

No doubt one of the finer features of the Encore is the fact that you can have a longer barrel in a shorter overall rifle length. And if you go with a shorter length barrel you really have a handy setup.

I know that is one of my favorite features of my Encore's. And my Encore CF is my go to deer rifle, and has been for years.

I have had some problems with the Encore MZ's. But then alot of guys I know have had great luck with their's. So I would have to give the Encore in general an A rating.

I just think they are a bit finicky with the MZ barrels. But I think alot of that has to do with the basic two piece stock system. And their MZ barrels are tight. Tom.

Head0001 , The only thing I see wrong with your gun is that it's wrong handed . All joking aside that is some good looking wood on that rifle and a very sweet scope.
I have a friend that changed out his mz barrel to a TC7mag barrel for a elk hunt in UTAH .You were talking about some being finicky , Well this must of been one of them . Because after $200.00 in bullets and 3 days at the range he found a shell it liked and did a fine job at over 300 yards may I add on a 6 by 6 bull .
