We have more restrictive lottery type hunts on some of the reserves and thats great IMO. I see no reason to impose restrictions on our ML season since its LAST. I WILL be using one of my SMLs during that time just because it bugs Muley.

MD, btw i guess you missed the videos of me shooting BH209 in my NULA. 130gr and a 325gr FTX will knock the snot out of nearly any game.
At least with smokeless you'll know you missed the shot.

I have to wait to see how good I am.

Probably wont even see one by then but at least i will be warm and toasty in the tree "house" even if its 10F outside.

I will probably tag out the opening weekend of CF season with the 54cal or not even see any i want to shoot. My luck is usually all or nothing.

SwingLock makes one...kinda.

Its only about $3000 or $4000 IIRC

I would rather have one of Doc Whites 451 Sporting rifles with a custom Douglas barrel for less than half that much and its still good past 300 yards.

I should have bought this one when he had it for sale but im holding out for a ThunderBolt and maybe see if he will put a .410 barrel on it.

It was a one of a kind according to his website and had a great price. It was under $1000 IIRC or very close to that.

Talking

I my self have side locks with and with out scopes. My inlines are scoped as would be my smokeless if I owned one.
As far as I am conserened smoke less was the first substute for black powder and shooting BH209 isn't much different.
I do know that if the divison keeps up that some day all hunting with any thing but a rock or sharp stick will end the season. My Michigan was smart enough to name muzzle loading season. The antis will use the divison to take all we have today and use the center fire people againest the muzzle loading people. They will use the bow hunters againest us all till all that is left is a season where you can only hunt with a 15 pound rock or a straight sharp stick that weighs at least 10 pound for throwing.

I feel any legal method of hunting is fine. If you don't like one of your hunting partners method of hunting then find a new partner that conforms to your thinking. Then defend all hunting rights with your life.

Peep sites are great for tired old eyes. Thats how I am able to shoot my hawkins today and not kill the neighbours horse.

Smokeless powder is no more the first black powder sub, than jet fuel is a sub for gasoline.
