Default Starting a Contest

I was thinking , if we got one more entry we could split up into 3-5 person teams, or 5-3 person teams. Or we could leave it as an individual endeavor. What do you guys think? At this late date I think it should be a unanimous decision.

I don't see why not! Sounds like fun. They do this over at the hunting forums all the time. This would be a unique hunting contest for us and us alone.

The only problem with this is how do you determine a 'winner'. You can't go by rack size because some of us are only limited to shooting doe (PA early ML season). You could go by weight. Then have a scoring system like:
Sidelock users (open sights): 5 pts for every yd over 50 yds
Sidelock (scoped): 3 pts for every yd over 50 yds
in line users: 1 pt for every yd over 50 yds.
This would put the sidelockers on a more even plane than someone who can shoot 150 yds with a scoped inline.

How about anyone and everyone who posts a picture of a deer killed this season with a muzzle loader gets one free PowerBelt from MountainDevil, one free BloodLine from Grouse, and one free round ball from Muley.

I don't think it should be too complicated. What ever system they use for the gun season would be fine by me. We are all limited in one way or another. The deer grow different sizes in different areas. Limits differ from state to state. Types of muzzle loaders and primers allowed differ too I'm sure. We have all become adjusted to these limits where we live and hunt. If there was going to be a fee to enter the contest I could see setting limits to equalize the contest, but that's not what I had in mind and not what I would like to get into.
In any case, if anyone knows how to set it up, I'm in.

I have revised the gun contest rules. If anyone has any suggestions for any other editing of the gun season rules or any additions that should be made, let me know.

I think your going to be hard pressed to get 10 member teams. I think a good idea would be to decrease your team member numbers and have some sort of random system to pick them. One problem is that time is not on your side as it won't be long before seasons start some places and to have teams picked and all the wrinkles ironed out with the contest rules and whatnot. With that being said I'm interested in participating if there is a reasonable contest that is created. Also, another suggestion is either one buck and one doe per member or 2 does.
