I think and I do not know as you say for sure... but the guy purchased (ordered) the original gun at a gun show in his home town (was actually looking for a new shot gun at the show). At the show he ordered a NFPJ and then later called Knight and changed it to a FPJ, even changed the color of the stock, as he believed it suited his needs better.
He did call me on the land line to talk about his decisions - I did not really go along with his decision totally as I would have gone with the NFPJ-- but the key point as I told him it is your descision not mine or ours + you can always order the gear need to make the other switch.
I really do not, I am just a bit familiar with the two case you are pointing out...
I sure wish I were but no I am not - actually wouldn't mind owning some stock if they sold stock.
Both of you are with to sensitive to what each of you say... Both of you need to move on - it is what it is - and you are both dragging a thread down that has nothing to do with what the thread was about.
Bolts and Plugs
No, Steve they are different... Both the bolt and the BP that go in the Mountaineer will not work in a Extreme and what works in the Extreme will not work in the Mountaineer.
The Extreme uses the old standard combination bolt for FPJ and NFPJ with a primer adapter and uses a newly designed BP for BH compatibilty... Both the FPJ and NFPJ have had modifications to the BP to enhance the ability to shoot and sustain shooting BH.
The Mountaineer requires a different bolt for NFPJ and FPJ + defferent BP's. Both are available from Knight you can order which ever one you want standard with the purchase + you can by the other if you want to have both ignition systems.
I thought some of your questions were directed at me - maybe not - just providing some information...

Was that supposed to be some kind of bad mouthing?? Why does any one come out with a new gun??? To drive more talk and more buyers....
Why did Knight come out with the Mountaineer.... It is just an improvement to the Disc rifle...
I actually had thought about buying a new Knight but your attitude and knowing that you have a in with the company just rubs me the wrong way.... your a mouth that thinks you are more than you are...

That's not it at all. It was a bad design and they can't change it. The fixed barrel ML was a good idea before the Triumph. Sorta waste of time now. No benefit at all over the Triumph. I think the Triumph is cheaper as well. The Accura locked up better then the Encore to tell you the truth.

Hey Jon, He wont answer me.....
will you ask him why Knight brought out with the Mountaineer? I mean with his thinking isn't it just an overpriced Disc Extreme.... Not really enough of a difference kinda like his reference to the encore vs. the triumph... oh does that only apply to TC....Please let me know what his answer is....
