A .40 caliber bullet is the minimum size allowed here in Maryland. Maybe you should check to see what your minimum caliber bullet for deer hunting is if you haven't already. That's a nice looking rifle and should be a great shooting gun. Let us know how that recoil pad feels when you fire a couple of magnum loads out of it.

The TC Flex Tec stocks IMO do reduce some felt recoil. There is really no need to shoot magnum loads in that barrel. 100gr of BH209 with a 200gr SST or Barnes 195 MZ will shoot excellent stuffed in a Harvester smooth sabot.

.38 caliber or larger in Ohio is legal for hunting with a Muzzleloader.

Nice choice Chaded!! You will be very happy once you hit the range.

Hey thanks guys, as Omega45 mentioned .38 caliber or larger is legal in Ohio. I certainly wouldn't have bought a .45 cal without checking as that could of resulted in a very bad time for me if it wasnt lol. Again as Omega45 mentioned about magnum loads as from what has been recommend to me by people that have the same gun I probably won't need to shoot magnum charges unless of course my gun liked them for some reason.

I was just interested in how well that recoil pad works. I know that 150 grains are more than likely not the best powder load for any rifle. I wasn't trying to mislead you as I figured you knew that as well. I just forgot that there are many people that are not aware of that.

I understand, i didnt take it the wrong way. I havn't shot this gun yet but compared to the rock solid pads on shotguns that ive shot and compared to the crush zone on the new cvas, i really like this pad a lot better. The real test will be when i get to go shooting.

Looks nice. Give those .400" 200 gr XTPs a try. They shoot really good for me out of my 45s

If that recoil pad is better than the Crush Zone pad you shouldn't feel a thing. The Crush Zone pads are SWEET.
