New APP - Super Powder

The 'crud ring' is not a part of the equation on my part. It is more about the possible velocity increase, using less powder and way less expensive than either alternative...

Why? Are you the only one shooting T7 that doesn't get a crud ring?

Most of us that are trying it are doing it out of curiosity of "what if" its better than the older powder. They probably don't recommend hotter charges due to some imports with a history of mediocre barrel quality. Many of those older extruded barrel guns are still in circulation. Some of them don't recommend over 100gr charges (loose powder) anyway or a max 100gr charge with a 300gr bullet. My old WinApex made be BPI even mentioned this in the manual. They suggested reducing charges by 10% with 300gr bullets.
Since we have no reviews, at this point this is all speculation as to how good or bad the new powder will be and why they impose such restrictions.

I haven't tried it in any over my current MLs but one i sold has no problem with shooting at least 5 shots of T7 without swabbing. My old WinAPex though was horrible with T7 no matter what i tried.

Even the CEO shoots loads that arent recommended in the manual LOL. Its just old print in the manual that they havent fixed yet. Even on the blog they state that they limit to 100gr Loose as most anything over that, just blows out the end of the barrel, unburnt.

Probably only true with real BP, but I know you know that.

MD, let's not start getting nasty here please. in all fairness to SABOTLOADER, he has tried every powder ever made including BH209.he still prefers 777,which is a great powder with the exception of the crud ring.you for one should understand why he wants to try the new super powder, since you experiment with about every product made for muzzle loaders, not just limited to powders.i am interested in the super powder myself as it may be a alternative to dirty pyrodex in my wolverine.like GM mentioned the .250 gr weight limit, probably is a liability issue, which i totally agree with.i personally value SABOTLOADERS tests and input, even though i don't always agree with everything he says. he's been extremely helpful and kind to me and many other members on this site.i look forward to his review on the new super powder.. let's play nice.. But in all honesty - i know a lot of folks battle the crud ring and I know I am fortunate and I am thankful for that.
I really believe it to be a chemical reaction of materials in the powder and in the bore. I even hate to say this on the open forum, but i first lost the crud ring when i settled on using BB in a hot bore many years ago that really reduced the harness of the ring. Then moving to synthetic oils further reduced it, such as Montana X-Tream BC, Slip 2000 or Eazox. The other thing that I think might help is the use of regular Windex with ammonia as a cleaner and patch swab at the range.
Also I wonder if elevation and humidity do not have something to do with it. But then I have been told about a group of guys in Pennsyvania that show no effects of the crud ring either so that blows my elevation theory....
I just do not know but again I am not the only one that is pretty much 'crud ring' free.
