That White model 97 U-Mag is sure a sweet looking gun, you guys have some great guns.

You would never believe how it shoots... both conicals and sabots. It has a 1/24 twist. You will get your chance to handle Thursday evening...

That is one of the reasons I got a Knight 52... the 1/26 twist bit me right away...

You have to admit... that 45 you got and thenthe one that you got me were very good buys for a very good accurate rifle.

If you want to check something out... go look @ Gunbroker, Auction Arm, Guns American and see how mant Knight DISC's you can find for sale now days... A few - very few!

I did not show you the way I just suggested that it was a very good buy - you did the rest....

And I really need to thank you for getting the all-in-one-hole Knight 45 you found for me.... THANKS - again!

mike

We did get a steal on those. I about died when she ran it through and it was even cheaper than the tag. Mine has turned out to be insanely accurate with enough loads to make me happy. Its easy to carry and just plain fun to shoot a good 45.

When i got my WinApex 50cal years ago, they had the Knight 45s for just a tad more and ive been kicking myself in the arse ever since. IIRC they were actually 45cal SS SuperDiSCs or Elites, im not sure so i wasn't passing these up.

I really need to take out the Original this weekend and see how it does against the Elite. Im curious how the heavier barrel is going to compare with top end loads. Ive got the trigger set almost as nice as the Elite's. I got the 52cal basically for the same reason (twist) and im rather bored with most 50cals. I wanted something new to play with and a project type gun. Only 2 sabot choices is no worse than only having 2 for the smokeless 45s and they work fine.

Fella's, the western conversion kit for the bolt guns, i.e. Disc Extreme and LRH does expose the breech by utilizing a modified bolt handle and breech plug to adapt to musket or #11. It's a very simple change over. You disassemble your current bolt and install your firing pin assembly into the new bolt, install the new plug and nipple and your ready to fire legally. The nice thing about it is now you have two set ups for the rifle if you choose to travel to other parts of the country and would like to use the 209 system.

That is really a good idea. I wasn't aware of it until this thread. It sure makes the disc rifles more versatile. I still like my mk's the best though.

I got a chance to check out some of Sabotloaders Knights, SWEET thanks Mike. The white was a little big and bulky for me but the DISC Extreme was just right! I have got to have one of those. I also love the camo stock and the laminated stock that Knight shows on their web sight. I can't do the black composite now not after seeing these other stocks. I pulled the plug on the Bighorn I had purchased but not picked up yet, got to have the disc extreme.

The Knights shoot as good as they look and feel also! I do know a guy that has a .45 extreme blued/synthetic that he would part with. Just shoot me a pm if you are interested and I will see what he will let it go for.

Washatonian

Then you would love an Elite. They handle even better than an Extreme but stock options are more limited unless you mod an Extreme stock to fit.

Problem Scott, no scopes in Washington, Idaho, or Oregon... needs to go Extreme for the open sights...

So are you going to wait until May and get one of the new Extremes?
With someone like Sabotloader around you'll catch the ML sickness in half the time. Congratulations.

Aint that the truth. :p

I was quite happy with my Accura 45 and GMB54 until i tried an Elite 45. DO NOT ask him to talk you out of buying one. It wont work once you get the "fever"!!!! Even my Savage doesn't get my blood flowing like my Knights for some reason. Its a great gun but is heavy and no more accurate in stock form. Only the McGowen 45 1-22 twist SML barrel im waiting for might help but then it will be even heavier.

I know you liked the Extreme with a Western Kit but the old MK85 is still a better handling gun IMO and the trigger is top notch even compared to my best centerfires. It conforms to all the regs and it will drop in other Knight stocks.
