I am in Yakima, not too far from you. I have hunted Idaho the last 3 years. What do you think of the Bighorn? The same store has a MK85 SS for about 400 dollars but I am asuming that it is about the same gun as the bighorn. A lot of guys over here really love the CVA Elkhorn, they say it is a real tack driver.

Thats a bit much for a MK unless it is a rarer version. As far as comparing them. I had a LK93 and it was nice for a entry level gun but the MK has a far better trigger and is made better. The Bighorn should fall in the middle of them. Fit and Finish on the MK is great too. I got a steal on both of mine.

I think there is a nice 50cal thumbhole SS MK (Knight hawk) on one of the auction sites but i think he wants $300 NIB. let me look for it.

Isnt that considered a closed breach. It has a firing pin correct and its not a plunger? It appears the bolt would cover the cap.

no its not a closed breech You can clearly see the primer from the side due to the cut out. Its not fully enclosed.

Well, i'll be darned... my daughter lives in Kennewick - I am over your way all time, in fact the grandaughters play in the Yakima AAU basketball league and we end up driving up there quite a bit. We need to get a meet going and I can share some information with you. Do you know where Benton City is? There is a sopt just outside of Benton City that we can et some shooting in if you want to.

The Big Horn is really a very good Pac Northwest gun. The barreled action is basically the same barreld action that you would get on any of the top line Knights. In my opinion the MK is the best of the open breech Knight guns, but not worth $400 on todays market, that is what they were when they were new.

Unless you are in immediate need of the gun do not buy anything yet... unless you might want to go with that LRH, that is still not a bad buy. Beating the weight or the stock is an easy matter and it is a super gun. Switching the bolt out is also a piece of cake. I believe we can get you into a great Knight for $250-$300.

Basically there is not a CVA made that would serve you as well as a Knight or a White. If you go to the older CVA's they have load restrictions on them and the barrel is made from a extrusion process. The newer CVA's have cleaned up their act act quite a bit.

Hey Washtonian if you can meet up with Sabotloader you would be ahead to do so. That man is a wealth of information. Plus he knows his knights. If it were me, I would look at getting that LRH for that price and holding on to it, then I would get me an MK85. Nothing against the CVA's, I just think the Knights are in a league of there own! I may be a little biased!!! Good luck with your decision and have fun with whatever muzzy you latch onto!
