Just exactly what arguement did I pick and when did I run off crying. Some guy wants to learn something about muzzleloading, he has only shot one on one occasion, and you are giving him a load that is guaranteed to blow up on a deer. Where did you tell him it was only for use on 140 yards or more???? Are 140 yard shots on game what you would normally recommend for first time shooters? I didn't start this petty BS but I'll be damned if I'm going to back down from a punk like you when it is clear I am right.
And here I defended you when another forum member called you out for being a thief.

I PERSONALLY have used 150gr charges and they worked PERFECTLY fine when used at the recommended 140+ yards.

And when an animal you want steps out at 75 yds, what happens?
Have him wait while you unload and reload?

Logic is a funny thing - some just never see it.

Gosh! I am glad I have been gone all day... and I will stay gone from this one - I hope...

Why even bother there are so many people here with a lot better credibility.

Ok, i have a "on topic" response.

Newer CVAs seem to like either the Harvester Smooth Black or MMP HPH-24 sabots

Cabelas has the Harvester blacks for sure. Im not sure what kind of MMPs they carry.

GoldDot .452 250gr or 300gr depending on how much knock down you want.

80-100gr of BH209 or T7 loose lit by a Win209 primer. I prefer 100gr with the 300gr.

Cheap, accurate and proven killers by many.

I think you have hit the nail right on the head...

The W209 works very well with the conversion and creates a lot less rock hard carbon in the flash channel. I do not even bother drilling the channel out anymore....

Some time when you are bored... load a primer then hold the muzzle off a concrete floor about 2" and shoot the primer. The Fed 209a and the CCI 209m will leave a really nice black round circle on the concrete - they put out a lot of debris. As you back down in primer strength - there is a noticeable difference...

I still cant get the "filthy" results from Win209s and WinT7s that one person gets.

Fed209As have also been cleaner for me than any CCI primer and in all of my guns?

Ive even tried extreme charges of BH209 and 385gr bullets in a sabot but the Wins keep coming out clean. My breach plugs clean up within minutes?

Another odd thing. I noticed on someones website they claim their preferred hunting load uses a Win209 but here they prefer and recommend CCI209Ms??????

What is your shooting/hunting setup????
CVA Optima .50cal

Bushnell 3-9x40 " Blurry as sin but works"

.500" 300gr Ballistic Tip Thor

100gr Blackhorn209

Winchester W209 primer.

All i have right now are Winny primers. My local stores are out of CCI's. Bought a 1,000 winchesters just to keep on hand and use until i can find CCI's. Them suckers are getting hard to find locally.
