Default Semi - what is the rule?

How many deer can you pass on before they might not ever show up again? I am up there in numbers now and beginning to worry a bit, but I know either you or the Weasel will know. And I certainly am coming to you b4 the Weasel....

U-all have a great Turkey Holiday season!!!!

U2 Weasel...

DAMMIT Sabotloader. Now I understand what's going on! I haven't even seen a deer over the last two weekends. I have every intention of taking the first mature doe I see, or the first 8-pointer. Evidently they know this. It seems they all headed up your way to parade around in front of you with a smirk on their faces.

As far as how many you can pass on before they stop showing up, the number is unlimited. Pass on ten or a hundred and they will still show up. However, they will stop ten minutes before you decide it's time to shoot something. It's some sort of deer telepathy thing.

Ya Think! that they might be dat good?

I passed on a fork horn this morning and on a doe walking out to the truck... but, there is a good reason... I have only one tag and the season last till Dec. 13 + if I am forced to shoot a doe I want to do that with the MK-85. I am hunting with an Elite right now (our regular rifle season) - the Elite is a dedicated 'buck' gun.

See if I shoot to soon then I have to start on the 'honey-do' list and it is really long....

It should be against the law to have a one deer limit...I wouldn't be able to stand it...

Dang Mike Im in the same boat as you, I've passed on a Big 6pt with No Brow Tines with a 18"++ Spread and a few small Bucks sp Far, Plus some Does around 100lbs. It's Big or nothing for me, Doe's have to be 120++Lbs and Bucks at least a Big 8.
The more you pass the better chances you have at seeing the one you want, so Hold Out.
Our Gun Season ends the 12th and then 9 Days of Late ML. But I also could'nt stand just one Buck Tag, We get 2 Buck, and up to 5 Doe Tags, so the Pressure's not so bad for me.
Stick with it and you'll get the (One) that counts.

We passed on 5 total before i couldn't take it anymore. We are only allowed 1 buck with any firearm including the ML season and as many "anterless" as you wish to buy depending on county. Antlerless includes bucks with really small racks in about half of Missouri. My hunting area covers two counties with different bag limits on anterless deer.

Our buck season is over as of 11/23 and its anterless only until Dec 5th and then on Dec 18 we get 10 days of any deer with a ML only.

I was dying to try out the SOCOMs in the GMB54, so that is my excuse and im sticking to it.

Sabotloader,
You would not want to hunt my farm this year. We put in affect a no 8 pointer rule this year. Openning day of mz season a big 8 probably near 130" came by at 20yds following a doe......Oh how tough it was to let him walk. Our mission is to try and get upper quality deer and only letting them walk will that happen. so all toll i must have let close to 10 rack bucks pass bye. Our late Va mz season starts dec 10th and then its on for some meat.....

For me a 130class 8pt would do it if it's late in the Season. But I'd rather get a 140" or better as that quallifys the Buck for NYS Bug Buck Club, but as of now Im on about a 160"++ 10pt that's around and Im focusing on him for now.
Like you we let a-lot of Bucks walk to grow, our Doe Tags are for meat and our Buck Tags are for the wall.
