I am shotting the schockwace with the easyglide sabot and feel like sometimes it loads to easy in my tc. is a snuger fit better? I think the schockwave shot ok but think something could be better.

I use nothing but the TC 240gr XTP's, there Awsome! Now My Buddy was having trouble with his TC Triumph and the Shockwaves so I got him to try the XTP's. he did, they loaded easier and shot better.

Thanks, Breechplug I'll give them a try. Hows your archery season going? I shot a nice 10pt 20 in inside. I think I'm not to far from you. Since the snow hit only seen 2 deer. Hope to find a doe soon.

The 240 XTP has probably harvested more deer than any other bullet in the US, but I would sugget to you to look very hard at the Speer Gold Dot/Deep Curl .452/250 grain bullet. It is a bonded a bullet... it can not come apart as the XTP can (doesn't very often but can separate the lead from the copper) and has controlled expansion - so it acts somewhat like a Nosler Partition at about a 1/3 of the price.
Here are a couple of pictures that demonstrate what I am trying to suggest. These are torture tested bullets..

Here you can see that some XTP's separated - not often but they can and the bad part is you never know when they might.

The Rut is in Full Swing here, I had chances at some good Bucks but Im waiting for Ol Mossyhorns, if he does'nt give me any shots I'll save My Tag for Late ML Season.
Congrats on your Buck, he sounds like a Good One, now go and get that Doe. But it's might be tough for ya if you see a Great Buck walk by, I've been there and that's why if he's not at least a 130 Class Buck I'll let him walk. Anything 130 or better than Im satisfied and quit Bowhunting and save My Doe Tag and or Antlerless Tag for Late ML Season.

I know that there are better, tougher and more ballisitcally advanced bullets for front-stuffers than XTPs.... but having shot almost everything I can put my hands on out of my Omega.... NOTHING and NOTHING shoots better than 240gr XTP Mags. Some come close, but not close enough for me to switch.
FWIW, I am not shooting the pre-packaged Hornady or TC XTP bullets. I am buying the sabots loose and buying the .452 240gr XTP Mag bullets in the 100 packs. THEY ARE QUITE A BIT DIFFERENT TOO. They are a hell of a lot tougher, have a bit more of a boat tail design to them and don't have quite as big a hollow point front. As far as how they shoot (because I used to just buy the TC 30 packs, they both shoot lights out. I do think that the pistol bullets are loads tougher than the ML bullets though... jacket is thicker. Don't expand quite as fast, but they stay together better.
Personally, I'll take accurate and tough over anything else in spades. I know lots of bullets expand faster and shoot flatter and what not, but a bullet that cannot get to its target and then leave a good exit hole also is worse than worthless in my opinion.
