3 things i do Hate : Fed 209a primers, Win W209 primers and the Third, Crud rings
Again, things are not always black and white. Never used Fed 209A primers, so can't comment. However, tried CCIM 209s. They were dirty and less accurate FOR ME IN MY GUN. The are also too big for my original Knight and lehigh plugs (got stuck after the shot) And since I got my Lehigh conversion plug, I use standard Winchester W209 primers and my knight LRH with BH 209 goes bang every time. And they are smaller and don't get stuck in the primer pocket.

The one FACT I have learned about muzzleloading is that I can only say what has worked for me. Doesn't mean it will absolutely be the best thing for others and their guns, even if it is the same model.

But, I am in total agreement on one point: I hate crud rings!

And the sad thing is - the crud ring doesn't even care.

LOL.

Guys, you have fun. Funeral this afternoon and fly back to Colorado at 6 AM tomorrow. Hope my hunting partner has located an elk for me by now! Either way, I sure need a walk in the mountains.

The important thing here, is have you been helped? Does your rifle work now? Have you any questions?

With time, you will recognize the shill(s), and will be able to glean the information you seek from the chaff.

Ronlaughlin, no, I haven't had a chance to get the gun back out yet. I can't seem to get off work in time to make it to the range. I'm sure I'll have more questions, so I'll hit you all back up shortly
