Hey Nosler guys.....

Which Nosler bullet do you shoot? I assume most of you would shoot the 260 grain .451" Partition with a crush rib sabot (or something similar). For those of you that do shoot this combo, how does it compare against the 240 grain hornady XTP in your particular gun (as far as accuracy, expansion through game, etc)? It seems like a little overkill for whitetail but I could be wrong.

I don't shoot 'em, but here's my guess:
Performance should be similar to XTPs (just a couple short handgun bullets
), however the partition is a safer bet on a passthrough... cause the rear of the bullet has no chance of blowing up and should continue through the animal. I wouldn't be too concerned, and XTPs work great for so many people.

I have shot both with good results.I do not care for the XTP Mag. I lost a deer using that bullet, but it may have been my fault. All the deer I killed with XTP's were with the 240/44 in supplied sabots. I never recovered a bullet as all were pass through shots. Most were DRT or short track with good blood. I am using Nosler 260 partition now with the same results. I think the Noslers are a bit more accurate in my Omega. The Noslers are higher priced but I laid in a lifetime supply when Nosler had a clearance sale. IMO both are proven bullets. The XTP has probably killed more deer than any other saboted bullet out there, and the Nosler has been around almost as long as me.

I have used both over the years, the nosler is king for some things and I have used several others with great success but for whitetail the 250 Gold Dot with 110 gr of BH gives me the combination that I get the best results from. For bear and elk I prefer the Nosler or a Lehigh, some times the added penetration can make a difference.
