I specifically said do not send me a new rifle. A friend borrowed it for Ohio ML season and broke the trigger guard????? Not sure what happened but it was broke.

I believe that to be true now that you mention that. At least my Deer hunting is over anyway.

If what I heard was correct they laid off half or better. CS will end up as bad as Smith and Wesson.

I know this is off the subject a little, but a friend of mine bought a TC Triumph and about half the way down the barrel the Bullet got tight and he had a heck of a time getting it past this spot. He called TC and the said (that some of the Barrels had different speck's) on them. He sent it to TC, got it back and it was fine after that.
His question to TC was how could there be different barrel specks for the same MLer??? his question was'nt answered in his return barrel, just the barrel. Also it took over 5 weeks to get his new barrel.
Has anyone else experienced this with there Triumphs? His Triumph was purchased at Cabela's the same time as another Friend of mine got his, I got the one my Friend got and later sold it to a friends Son for a great price.

Breechplug

In the wonderful world of ML barrels - there are no standards. One companies 50 cal may not and probably will not have the same bore diameter as that of another company. Even within the company the 50 cal bore may vary from .499 to .502/3. Since there is not an exact standard it does allow the manufacturer to extend the use of some cutting tools and does not require a tight inspection system.... benefit - less expensive.

That is the reason for all the different sized sabots.

Mike I guess then that's the reason when you get a real (Shooter) you should keep it, shotgun, Rifle, MLer, ect...I have always wondered why the exact same gun will shoot differently with the exact same load, that explains it. But you'd think they all should be the same size bore as the other in the same model.
It's like I have a OLD H&R 10guage, extra full choke that I use to use for Turkeys and Geese. I could kill a Turkey at 50yds and he'd never move a muscle, yet a friend had the same gun and he couldnt hit crap with it with the same load and missed many Birds. It's like they have a mind of there own, either there good, not so good or bad, and we have to make good on the one we get.:confused0024:

Many years ago i had a sidelock go bad on a T/C and they said send it in and they paid the return and was very fast. I think mybe now the problem could be they got so darn big their service is slower. Happens sometimes when co. gets too big.

Maybe I'm way off base here. Why couldn't you just have asked them to send you a new trigger guard? It seems like it would be a lot less expense all the way around.

The trigger guard is part of the trigger group, and because of liabilty TC or a qualified gun smith has to do the work. Liabilty worries are huge these days - especially when it comes to triggers...
