IMR White Hots?
#1
I was wondering what's deal with IMR White hots? What are the benefits? I use 777 100 grains right now out of my Triumph. Seems like they (IMR White Hots)shoot a little faster and cleaner than the 777 I currently use.

I bought some at Cabelas a few months back. I see no reason to buy anymore. I couldn't tell a difference from 777 other than color and I still had a crud ring in my gun with them. I still have 3/4 of the box.(They are in tubes actually),. I'll stick with the 777.

Sounds like a gimmick to me. I saw a commercial for them and all it said was "The first white powder for your muzzleloader" or something like that. No mention of any benefits over any other products. It seems like they would mention something if it was better than 777 or Pyrodex pellets.

Thechronograph evidence presentedon page 2ofthisShootingTimes articleindicates thatWhite Hots pelletsare more potentwhile weighing 20%less than 777 magnum pellets. And there was also noticiably less standard deviation recorded.
If this is true then they're not just a gimmick.
