white hots
I made a trip to a big name sporting goods store this morning. I was actually looking to pick-up some cr sabots, and low and behold, a shelf of white hots. 27.00 for 72 pellets. Packaging says to use only 2 charges. I recently read an article where the author used 3. My encore likes 2 t7 pellets and 300g sst/shockwaves. I think I'll stick to 2 for now.I don't have a chrono, but will report back on any noticable differences and cleanliness.

Well you are going to get 36 shots if you load two and only 24 shots if you load three.. for $27.00 so you are running .75 cent or $1.125 cents per shot for the white hots..
I just bought a box of Pyrodex Pellets for $18.00 (on wal mart sale) normally $21.00 for 100 pellets which would give you 50 shots at two pellets or 33 shots with three pellets.. .36 cents or .54 cents depending on what you shoot.. per shot... .42/.63 at the normal everyday low Wal Mart price..
So the White Hot is approximately twice as expensive at Pyrodex. Triple Seven was more expensive then the Pyrodex RS pellets.
It will be interesting to hear your range report and what you think of the powder. Please keep us posted..

What state and what store did you find the White Hot pellets? After reading the article about the tests on them I called the company (IMR) and a company rep told me that the White Hots would not be available until sometime in 2009. The test article made them sound like a great product comparable to BH 209.

As cyuugad stated, they are not very economical to shoot. I'm a pellet shooter for convenience reasons alone. Since they were available, I thought I'd give them a try.More of a noveltythan anything, the kids will get a kick out of white powder.

All articles make the product sound like the best thing on earth... welcome to the forum jimpenny. I am always a little skeptical when someone paid to test something writes a review of it. Not saying all writers are not up and up, but I would take the field reports of forum members with a good deal of respect.
