Default Storing Black Powder

I never got too concerned about the substitutes but now I have a couple pounds of the real stuff. Just wondering where you all store your powder and what precautions I should take.
Thanks, Art

I bought a 25 can case (cardboard box)of GOEX in April '08and it's been sitting in the corner of my man roomsince the day I brought it home. There are still25 cans in that case, but only two still havepowder left in them. I do have a safety rule though - no bonfires or welding in the man room.

Correct - I store mine in a 50 cal ammo box. They hold about 6 or 7 - 1 lb cans. I keep it under my loading bench along with my loaded ammo.

So is there a shelf life for say RS or 777 loose unopened cans?
I was thinking of ordering a case and put it away for a rainy day.

hmmm saving black powder or substitutes for a rainy day....... now that's just asking for problems......

I think if you keep it cool and dry, you will have no worries.
