Default 300 gr XTP Mag and Nosler shots

I picked up a bunch of XTP mags 300 gr. I know there has been a lot of discussions on the xtp but I was wondering about expansion on the 300 gr mag. I was told they don't expand. Also I picked up some Nosler SHOTS in 250 gr and 300 gr. Anybody ever try them. They were really cheap, thought I could shoot them at paper and see what they do. I only have Knight high pressure sabots(black) so I probably won't be able to try thr XTP's in my Triumph til I get some different sabots. I thought of trying them in the Genesis ,Knight,or fast twist Hawken barrel.

chetmarks

The only place i would worry about the 300 grain XTP-Mag is with a close range shot... they are built a little tougher than the regular XTP - so they are slower to start expansion.

The 'shots' should shoot paper very well, actually they would probably do just as well as a regular XTP on whitetail also.

I do not think you will even come cloase to getting a Black Knight Sabot down a Triumph. They were/are built for the older and larger bore of the old Knight rifles. I am not sure you will get them down anything new other than a .504 White.

The Shots are the "practice bullets" for the Nosler partition, suppose to shoot identical.I don't know anybody shooting them at game, but I am sure they would work, since big hole usually means dead animal. As for the XTP vs the XTP Mag, here is the primary difference:
