Default Maybe Monday's trip bust was for the best

Guys remember I posted that I went to RMC Yesterday and was disappointed. Well maybe it was the ML gods telling me something. Last night I'm browsing through gunsamerica.com and gunbroker.com and I find a 1 of 500 T/C Hawken for sale. It is a 50 cal percussion (probably 1:48 twist) and the stock has all stainless steel hardware instead of the brass. Also the stock is free of the unnecessary patchbox. Price was fair at $370. But I thought I'll wait until tomorrow. If it there when I wake up, I'll buy it.
Well, as they say, the check is in the mail.
I think this one is going to be my PRB shooter. Will post pics when I get it.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Is the barrel stainless also? You don't wantCayugad to have the only stainless sidelock on the board.

No Semi - the barrel isn't stainless. But the ram rodthimbles are if that helps

Is this the Cougar series Hawkin. Also there was a special addition Hawkins a while back that had stainless parts. They looked pretty cool. I will be waiting for the pictures. You were lucky, that should be a great rifle.

No Dave - this isn't the Cougar. The Cougar did have stainless hardware, but it also had a Stainless medallion with the T/C cougar on the stock where the patchbox is normally located and had "Cougar" on the barrel. This one does not have anything where the patchbox normally is and has the "1 of 500" inscription on the barrel.
I just got off the phone with T/C. This model was called the Silver Elite. Only 500 were produced.

My buddy has a silver-elite he bought brand new, but his has the stainless barrel. Really a nice looking rifle !!!!!! He says it shoots better than his Pennsylvania hunter with round balls. Sound like you got a good deal
