New front sight coming

New front sight coming
My GM barrel on my Renegade (45 cal) has the fiber optic sights. When I got it it was shooting higher than I wanted. I have the rear sight down as low as I can get it. the back of the sight is touching the barrel. It is so low that the set screw to lock it in place is off the ramp. I staked it in place by tapping the alum dovetail on the ramp.
I didn't like that set up so I called Williams. They are sending me the highest sight they have (.570"). The one that is on the barrel is .550". They also told me the rear sight has .100" of elevation adjustment. So if that's the case, I should be able to slide the rear sight up about 1/5 th the way up and get a good solid engagement with the set screw. I just hope I don't have the same trouble with the new barrel.

What kinda barrel did you get for it, rb, fast twist, etc? Just curious is all.
That's one of the great things about the Renegade & Hawken, so many drop-in barrels readily available.
