Just got my new Accura (that had been back ordered for over 30 days) and am looking at a scope for it. I had to return a scope and rings that I had purchased for my Kodiak because I couldn't move the scope back far enough to eliminate "scope shadow". The scope did not have enough eye relief. (it was advertised as having 3.5" of eye relief)
I want to avoid this with my new gun. I am thinking of the Nikon Prostaff 3-9 x40 with BDC. (Found a great deal for scope, rangefinder for 299.00) Can anyone suggest good scope mounts that will give plenty of adjustment?

I have 2 ACCURA's and I used the CVA Durasight Z2 Alloy See-Thru Mounts on them, they work fine with my Leupold Ultimate Slam ML Scope and a Bushnell Dusk to Dawn Scope. Im not rtying to talk you out of the Nikon, there great scopes, but as I mentioned in a forum a few day's ago the Nikon with the BDC is set up for a 250Gr. Bullet and a 150Gr. Powder Charge. If you dont use this load the BDC wont work. The Leupold I have with the (SABR) reticle has 3 different settings on the scope, 1 for a 2-pellet setting, 1 for a 3-pellet setting and 1 for a Shotgun Setting, and it also compensates with these settings for use with a lesser powder charge or even a 20Ga, Shotgun, it's more vesitile. The Nikon is'nt. You were talikng about the Nikon Omega with the BDC reticle right? I have 2 Nikon Scopes, Pro-Staff, and love em, but the BDC only has one load you can use or you have to (GUESS) where you have to hold between the lower long range reticle lines, and if you have to guess than why have it, unless of course you use the 259gr and 150gr charge. My 2 Cents. Best of luck.........Cabela's has the Durasight Scope Mounts, you'll need the one's for (Optima/Kodiak/Wolf) for the ACCURA. And I had these rings on a Kodiak that I have too, worked fine.

These are Durasight's one piece base/ring combo (not see thru). They seem to be working fine. I have the scope mounted as far back as it will go. Does this seem enough?

The scope is a Bushnell Elite 4200 2.5-10. Ultra clear, it is fast becoming one of my favorites. It is available with a "ballistic" reticle.

If you want maximum rearward adjustment (or I suppose forward if you flipped it around) http://www.eabco.com/cgi-bin/shopper.exe?preadd=action&key=127-814

Fellow over at24HR Campfire bought one for his Accura - perfect fit.

Thanks for the info and the pictures. Just unpacked the Accura and gave it a quick once over before heading out for work. I noticed the rear sight was loose and the screw holes where the scope mounts are bigger than on my Kodiak.
Old/New, that gun looks great. Now I cant wait to get my scope and have it mounted.
Cant wait to shoot and see how accurate it is.

Yes the screw holes for the scope on the barrel of the ACCURA are bigger, I mentioned that in a earlier forum. If you decide on different mounts and rings than the Durasight that I mentioned, call the manufacturer and make sure the screws will be big enough for the ACCURA.

You may want to give those T/C Gorilla Grips a try. I believe they make a model to fit the Accura. They are a Weaver style and have a cross bolt which allows you to remove the scope for cleaning. And it returns to zero after reinstalling. I put a set on my Genesis and removed the scope twice to verify its return to zero and was very satisfied.

I Like that base UC, gives you plenty of adjustment. Can you get just the base, or do you need to get it with the rings too?

You can just pick up the base. I was thinking of getting one myself but I had the Durasight on order when UC first suggested it to me. I still might try it. It appears to be a great base and I usually am partial to a one-piece. Warne Maxima or Weaver rings will fit (among others?).
