I'm hopeing my next ML is a Savage 10ml. So that with the extras and some smokeless powder will probably eat that $1000 up.

ORIGINAL: mnprohunter

So, you've come upon an extra $1000. What would be you guys muzzleloader choice?
i would buy a used t/c hawkins flintlock with a good looking stock.

i would get a 1-66 barrel new from thompson for around 200.

rest i would buy a SILER LOCK now made by jim chambers to replace the t/c lock.

now, thats one smooth shooting baby there...

For an Inline... I would go with what I have-

Plain Jane Stainless with Composite stock... Nikon Scope... then trick it out with trigger job, .25acp, modified hinge pin, bergara barrel, ... oops... you said under $1000? (Find a real nice used Encore then trick it out and you should have money to spare.)

Well I did just that, spent a $1000.....My first choice I bought a CVA ACCURA Stainless/Black Fiber-Grip Stock and a set a Dura-Sight Z2 Alloy see-thru mounts, then purchased a Leupold Ultimate Slam Mzzleloader Scope with the (SABR) reticle, total cost from Cabela's after Cabela's rebate's $645.74.....then I liked the ACCURA so much I took the rest of the money and bought another one, this one in SS/Camo....2 ML's, one fully equipped and another one to boot! Money well spent!
