FPBs with BH 209
I hear that BH 209 needs a tight sabot fit to work properly.
Has anyone tried this powder with FPBs and does it operate as it should? FPBs don't fit real tight in my Genesis, but maybe they are ok for the powder once they obturate?
Thanks.

YES, they work just fine with 90 or 100gr of BH in my Triumph or my Omega. Very accurate as good as most sabot bullets and the penetration and expansion I got on the two boars I have used them on was excellent since they past on through leaving a nice exit hole I never got a look at the used bullet after it did the job. I want to try some in my Genesis, but I think I will use Pyrdoex RS. And I will start them at 100 grains. I was at Wal Mart this morning and their sales have finally hit. So since they had five packs for $7.00 a pack, I figured I would take them.
I want to try them ina few rifles...

My Genesis shoots them well with 100 Pyrodex RS, so I'm guessing yours will too.If you have the powder to burn, try110 and 120 gr of Pyrodex. I want to see how they fly with heavier charges too.
I hope the FPBs are not allgone at my Wallmart, I have to wait until Friday.

Well, with all this talk about Walmart and FPBs, I had to make a trip. They had four packs left so I picked them up ($9 per pack). Plan to use them in my Encore with BH209. But I have some Pyrodex P and 777 on hand so I will be trying those powders as well.

RE: FPBs with BH 209
I've picked up a total of 5 packs of FPB's at $9 each from WM so far. That gives me around 8 packs in my bullet bag. If they drop the price a little more I will pick up the rest of what they have. I plan on doing some more testing with BH209 and FPB's in several rifles in the coming months.
I've had OK luck with it in my White using musket caps but get the occasional hang/non fire. I can get instant ignition by adding a pinch of 777 or Pyro but I'm going to try adding a small amount of 4F priming powder from my pan charger before dropping the BH in to see if that works, my logic is the pan charger is easier to carry and use than the other powders in the field. My other guns have 209 ignition so they work fine. Let the testing begin.
