Genesis & 200 gr XTPs

RE: Genesis & 200 gr XTPs
I swabbed the barrel with alcohol and then ran a dry patch down it. And then popped two primers before I loaded.
Semisane.. I was thinking along the same lines as that. It should be a good hard hitting bullet. I think there were people shooting deer with them this year.

Nice shooting! Seems like the rifle likes that load.
The .40 cal 200 grain XTP is all I've used for deer since I started muzzleloading 4 years ago- 3 shots, 3 kills. I have the utmost confidence in this bullet at muzzle velocities up to 2000 fps. Hornady claims that it is good up to 2,300 fps or so - I can't attest to that, but I can attest up to 2000 fps. The 200 grainer expands reliably at a wide range of velocities and penetrates good - I've always gotten a pass-through (though this year the bullet was found lodged under the far-side hide after busting the far-side ribs). Go with it!

Very nice shooting, I shoot the 3oogr. xtp a lot. They are the tightest grouping at 100yds and less from my encore with 2 t7 pellets. And you can't beat the cost, buy in the reloading dept in bulk. I think I paid 13 bucks for fifty, teamed with a black crushed rib sabot(6 BUCKS FOR 50). THATS SOME ECONOMICAL SHOOTING. With great accuracy.

Dave that is really good. Even better than the 300 gr XTPs. I have some of them 200 gr .40 XTPS that I shoot out of my 45 Renegade. Now I just may have to try them in my Genesis. Guess I will have to order a pack of those MMP sabots. (you have a part number for them?)
I have no doubt that that combo will take a deer. You should have plenty of punch with them.
