Some of us still have a bad attitude about CVA from way back when they had barrels bursting all over the country,
The lawsuits from that were awful and the original company went broke if I remember correctly. I know I will not forget the day a customer came in all bandaged up with a cva that had burst in his hand, so I guess I am a bit biased. In all truth the outfit that bought them out has upgraded at least 1,000 percent, even so I remain a bit biased. It is also true that any gun with an obstructed barrel can be blown and that any competent gunsmith can tell what caused the problem. Lee

had best gunsmith in my parts look at gun even traveled 75 miles to get there (he's best in my area NE MS) only thing he could say is would have to test metal itself to say for sure but almost certain week material and burst point was directly above scope holes so that caused the weekest point being the thinnest part of material

Im no scientist or gunsmith, but holes in a barrel for scope mounts dont make the barrel any less thinner at that part of the barrel. It would seem that the powder charge would be in that same location as the scope holes. Hence, a improperly loaded charge would be a likely cause of the barrel bursting. In my opinion there is no way for sure to determine the exact cause of what happened, unless when you loaded the gun it was done by a team of experts on hand, then mabey we'd at least have a clue to waht happened. Im sorry for your mishap and Im glad your O.K. that's what really matters. But the true facts may never be known. I hope you find a cause to what really happened, and if in fact CVA was to blame then they should be accountable for it, but in this sport Safety and Good Gunmenship come first, and when we decide to join in this sport we better know the concequences to what may happen if we fail to do what is expected of us when we pick up a firearm. Dont be fast to blame the Manufacture when a mishap of our own doing occures. This is My Opinion and May God Bless you and your Famiy!

Tommy, you can't post a pic that isresiding onlyon your hard drive. Go to tinypic.com and upload it. Then copy the url for email provided, come here and click the picture icon, then paste in the address. You should see the picture appear almost immediately. If you don't, try it again.

am i not supposed to post pics off the hard drive? That's the only way I have ever done it. I modify them to the indicated size in Photo Elements or L-View and down load them so far there's been no problem I know of. Lee

Lee, no - what you are doing is fine using the upload feature to upload an attachment. Tommydelvis isn't doing that. The last one he attempted to post was given at address of http://c:/Users/tommy/Pictures/2008-12-09%20camera/camera%20043.JPG which might be an interesting picture but it is on his C drive. He must be using Vista due to the location of his Pictures folder.
Big difference intrying to directly link a filein your Pictures folder ...and uploading an attachment.

OK, guess I did not understand. I wish I had some of you computer wise guys here I just built a new one [the one I am on I built when Pen2 first put the chip on the market and its probably a bit out dated . I hope it don't take me a week of spare time to get all the soft wear running smooth like it did the last time. Lee
