Up until very recently, GOEX was the ONLY brand of BP available in the U.S. It is made by the people who used to make DuPont BP. When DuPont decided to get out of the powder business, the employees of their BP plant bought it to remain in business. The plant has subsequently been moved from Moosic, PA., where it had been for a century or so. I think it is in ARK. now.

I have never used the Swiss powder, I hear it is about the best. But there' s nothing wrong with GOEX!!

Yes, goex is good. Swiss is a little hotter and cleaner but it also costs twice as much. I have shot goex for years and recently bought some swiss just to try it and I like the swiss good enough that I will most likely keep using it. Even though its more costly, you can get the same velocity as goex using about .75% as much swiss and it burns much cleaner. I mail order all my powder. Did you just not want to buy a case? You can probably find two or three shooters to split a case with you. Its alot cheaper that way. By the case, goex is going for $7.50 plus shipping and hazmat right now. Depending on where you live that will be around $235.00 per case and swiss is $15.96 per lb delivered or $399.00 a case. You can find the dealers on the internet. I use McGee in Mississippi for goex and Maine Powder house for swiss.

Goex is good black powder,no complaints here, its probably the most common brand around these parts, haven' t seen any swiss yet, probably because of the price, also elephant was popular but I' ve never used it,was always satisfied with Goex.
