I like Ridge Runners idea. Patched round ball over 70 grains of your favorite ML propellant will get the job done out to 75 yards no problem. Round balls don't fly a long way or hold their velocity, but they have remarkable killing power and the recoil is very mild. I've shot this combo (70gr 2f black powder, the real stuff) for plinking out of my T/C White Mountain carbine that weighs maybe 6lbs and has a thin hard rubber buttplate, and it's a real pu$$ycat.

Or, if it's legal where you live, you could get her a Savage 10ML-II and shoot a 200gr Shockwave over 35gr Accurate Arms XMP-5744, which will give you a very light recoiling load that would be accurate and lethal to at least 125 yards, no messy or urgent cleanup required!

You can use just 1 pellet - I think that's the minimum recommended load for most rifles - if you want to stick with pellets. You'll need to re-sight in the gun for the new impact point. I'd stick to close-range shots with this load.

However, the better option would be to get some loose powder and buy either some 240 grain XTP's or 200 grain (.40 cal) Shockwaves. Start out with 60 grains loose 777 and try working up to 70 or 80 grains and see if she can handle the recoil. 60 or 70 grains 777 and either bullet should be a good deer load for under 100 yards without much recoil.

Did you let her try the 100 grains of 777 and the Shockwave 250 out of that Triumph? They have a nice Limbsaver recoil pad.My woman shoots that combowithout any problem, I asked if it kicked too much for her and she said "No". She shoots in the summer with a light shirt and seems to have no problem. You may not need to change anything.

Thanks for all the good advice guys!!!!!

We went back out and I think it was just getting used to it was the problem, seeing how she had never shot a gun. We stuck with the hundred grains of pellets and she was grouping great by the end of the day!!!!

I do appreciate all the help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
