Default cva wolf, what a bargin!!!

Hi guys I'm new here, I used to bow hunt and gun hunt alotbut my job(I traveled 5 days a week)kinda stopped that several years ago. Now although I was layed off I have found time to take my son hunting and it is actualy somewhate of a good thing to be layed off. Anyways I found this site researching a entry level inline for my sons 15th birthday and ended up buying him a CVA wolf for. My son, who has done very little shooting, is placing 3 shot groups that you can cover with a quarter at 50 yds with a scoped wolf. Granted this is not 100,150 yds but this little gun will shoot some tight groups. we are just getting it tuned in and have not tried any long shots yet but from what I have read that will be no problem as well. I gave $149.99 for it and the only thing I dont like is the hollow plastic stock does not give it a very solid feel. I would recomend this to anyone wanting a cheap good shooting inline. My dad has a encore and was not shooting as good at 50yds.

bornagain - I've found that most muzzleloaders will shoot good with the right powder/bullet combo. Sometimes it takes a while to find it but it sure is fun.

Price has no bearing on accuracy, most rifles sold now days will shoot well with the right loads and bullets. Out of the box, do what the maker of the rifle says, but one you know it can shoot well, then branch out into something that you want to hunt with. For example my Savage, shot 300g XTPs to 1.5" out of the box with recommended powder. I shot it once, and then started experimenting with different bullets. You can do the same with the wolf. Chap

Welcome bornagain. There's nothing better than hunting with your son. Hope you get to post a report of a deer taken with that Wolf.

As a fellow Wolf owner, I have to ask what your son is shooting out of his wolf.

We were usingtwo 50 grain pyrodex pellets with 250 grainhornady sst-ml sabots, which is the only thing we have shot so far.
