Default CVA Optima Load??

I purchaseda CVA Optima last year and didn't have much time to shoot it before hunting season. I used 100 gr.777 pellets and 270 gr. Platnium Powerbelts. They grouped OK, but I think I could do better. I'd like to experiment a little and find something that performs a little better. What loads do you guys have good luck with? Any input would be appreciated.

348gr powerbelt over 80 and 90gr pyrodex P. 250gr barnes expander in MMP-12 sabot. 240gr xtp in the same sabot and both driven by 90-100gr Pyrodex P with a Winchester W209 primer.

Havent shot the 270 plats yet but when i do i'll see if i can find an accurate load.

Buy some loose powder and start with about 70gr pyrodex p or RS. I'd stay away from T7 as it will more than likely leave a crud ring and have to be swabbed between each shot.

With the optima I had, the 348 gr. powerbelts shot well with 90 gr. of 777. I also had good results with the 300 gr. XTP and 100 gr. of 777.

My optima likes 90g of loose 777 and 300g xtp. 90g of loose will also work well with the 295g PB

Try Hornady FPB bullets, they are 350 grains, no sabot required. They load easy and shoot great in my gun over 100 gr Pyrodex. No deer within 100 yds is safe this year. I'm sure 100 gr T7 will work fine. I've always liked bullets on the heavier side too.

Initially I had trouble starting these bullets, but with the correcttip on the starter, and a good whack with the palm they go right down. Then they slide the rest of the way to the powder with little effort.
