Took the optima out today in cold weather and i have to admit, the first shot scared the crap out of me as i wasnt expecting the trigger to be so light! That moly lube is an amazing tool!
I switched my hunting load to 90gr pyrodex P and the 348gr Hollow Point and the bullets are holding up great in the dry sand bucket. I am 5" high @ 100 so i will do 3 clicks down and that should put me where i'd like to be.
Its cold as heck out today and so i was finally able to try it in cold weather! One thing i didnt like was a plastic loop on my hunting jacket. The optimas break open trigger got stuck inside that loop and i had to fiddle around getting it out. Better to happen on the shooting range than when/if i see an elk
Going to clean the rifle and oil it, load 3 speed loaders and take her back out late this evening when its Really cold.

FG .. maybe you found a new way to carry the rifle. Pinch some jacket in it, and then it is hands free..
I never used Molly lube but have heard a lot about it.. Have fun shooting.

Pictures from earlier today and late this evening.
My first outing shots 1 and 2 were quick reloads and #2 shot knocked the bucket over so i reloaded and went and set it back up again, a good 4 or 5 minutes and when i came back the barrel i guess cooled down and put my shot close to #1 shot.
I wanted to test out if that was the deal and that's exactly what it was so on the next outing, i waited till almost 6pm and it was freezing out. My hands are still numb. The rifle was completely torn down after the first outing, cleaned and oiled. I am sure i pulled #1 slightly but i can live with it. I did adjust the scope 4 clicks down before shooting the second outing but it didn't do a darn thing and they impacted the same height. Its 4 1/2" high which i dont really like but from what the manual says,I will be 10.5" low @ 200 yards with 100gr pyrodex. I am using 90gr 3f pyrodex p so thats just slightly over 100 grains if you were comparing it to 2f.
What do you think, Drop is down some or go with it?

1-3 = 2 1/4"
2-3= 1" center to center.

1 3/8" @ 100 yards. I ran a dampened windex patch down the bore this morning, loaded up and took it out in the rain/snow. Shoots in the fog was beautiful!

Rifle was covered with wetness from the mixed rain/snow and i wanted to test out the protection of the Flitz. After about 30 minutes inside the house the rifle was covered with a filmy white color where the rain drops settled down. I just used a dry towel and everything was like new again. Seems to do its job well.
