Hornady Conicals
Was in Walmart over the weekend. They had some conicals made by Hornady (I think), that basically looked like a powerbelt with no plastic gas check, but they did have a hollow base. From the design I would say they are supposed to work like a mini ball, where the hollow base allows the bullet to expand and grab the rifling.
Has anyone tried these and if so, how dod they shoot?
Thanks.

The Hornady FPB's have been getting some good reviews. I just refuse to pay that price they are asking for them. If the end of season sale has them more reasonable, I will stock up and try them in a number of rifles..

Thanks, those are what I'm talking about.
Yeah, they are rather proud of them.
I have some 45/70 bullets kicking around, and I've read that they shoot well with theMMP orange sabots. IfI can find the sabots around May try them.
I do like the idea of not needing a sabot though.
