The last time I took the Omega out I had a pretty good group with bh 209, 300 gr. sw. Put in the gun cabinet for a week and tried the same load, the first one loaded hard, the next four loaded easier but the group was not quite as good almost 3 in. instead of 2". Today I decided to clean it good with hoppes 9, 4 wetpatches and then dried it with3 or 4 dry. The patches were coming out really clean. I then took some Flitz and ran it back and forth and the patches were coming out with some fouling on again, not much but they were not clean. Then I went out back and shot a6 shot group, the first one loaded real hard and was 3.5" low and to the right. WOW !! But the next 5 were what I was looking for.

Just wondering if you are supposed to do something after the flitz besides run some clean patches after.

i like using the T17 that T/C makes for these ML'ers... I just run 1 pre saturated patch up and down and then it takes roughly 3-4 dry patches to get her clean. After that I run there seasoning patch down which is just bascially bore butter. Thats after shooting the BH209 also
kinda odd for 1 shot to be that far off. Are you certain you didnt jerk the trigger? How far was the target?
either way, i wouldnt worry to much about it since you got the group you were looking for
Some days ill shoot great and then others I just have a bad day which ticks me off, but we have to let those worrysome days go LOL
any of those shots has a dead deer down

How far that first shot is off often depends on what oil or other you put in the barrel and how you clean it out.
I scrub mine with alcohol then fire a couple primers to slightly foul it the first shot is about 1 to 1.5 inches low and center. Lee

No, I'm certain I didn't flinch, I use a shoulder pad plus a shooters friend recoil pad which almost eliminatesany fear of recoil. This was at 100 yds.
I guess I was just wondering what should be done after polishing the bore with Flitz or JB bore paste before you load again?
